Default why?

why does my honda feel like it runs stronger with no exhaust (just the header) i know it risks ------ up the valves but with no back pressure it feels like it has more ***** can anyone explain?? thanks

its fine to run like that. except for it comes out right where your CV boots are its only bad running it without a header. cold air can get sucked in a crack a valve or something along those lines..

It should be a bit doggy on the bottom end, but at top end it should really go well.. Unless your exhaust system & cat convertor are just incredibly restrictive..

It feels like its going stronger because it is. There is hardly any restriction when running with no exhaust letting the gasses to leave the car faster and the engine to rev more freely. So, you should have some suffering on the bottom end like AbaZ said but the top end will do better. My suggestion is that if you like the way it goes, get a custom exhaust or new exhaust made from about 2.25" or 2.5" piping.
