Default Rebuilding Question

I just got a ZC and now am taring it down and replacing all the seals and gaskets. I was wondering if I should be cleaning the head with certain chamicals as not to hurt the valve seals ro machined surfaces. Any help form somebody with rebuilding experience would be helpfull.

Any type of car parts cleaner will do fine, you can also use "never dull" to make it shinny and smooth.

you could also take it to a machine shop to hot tank it. thats what all the shops do when they do machine work to blocks and heads.
