I just got an older Cub cadet mower that I believe has the 17hp Series I Kohler KT17 engine in it. I want to try to use a 1.8 VW Pasat turbo clone on it. I'm aware the more common RHB31 VZ21 turbo would most likely be a better fit but the clone one was $200 cheaper :/ I anyone has done anything similar to this could you give some pointers on how I can get this setup to run good? It's hard to imagine a turbo made for an engine with 5 times the naturally aspirated power working well - you'll want a smaller turbo if you want real results. If you just want to put it on there for laughs, that's another matter.

 

Agree with Matt. Think GT15 when it comes to size.
