Default Need info on Mitsubishi TH04HL turbo

Hi, I'm new here but glad to see that there is a big forum devoted just for turbocharger!

i need some information about the TD04HL-15G turbo,
he came in the volvo 850 T5 (2.3L) models.
there is no other cars that he came with.

I'd love to know about the turbo in general,
How much force it supports ?
What is the boost range, and from which rpm upto which rpm he is kicks in ?

thanks a lot, jesse

Here is a pretty good list of vehicles and the turbo used.

How much boost it can produce depends on a lot of variables. Most important is the compression ratio of the engine & the liters of the engine. It would probably be pretty good on smaller engines. For a reference, I have two TD04HL-15G's on a 3.0L 8:1 compression engine. I see good boost around 3,000rpms, and 15psi by 3,500 rpm. it's pulling hard. I've been able to hold 20psi to redline so far & may be able to go more.

i have a td04hl-15g that came stock in my saab

on the 2.0 liter turbo engine from the saab, the turbo can support up to about 18-19psi, 16-17psi being efficient. The turbo at 18-19 psi can yield about 240hp.

if you're looking for a more efficient td04 turbo, i say go with a td04hl-18t or 19t. they have a larger compressor housing and will yield about 360hp on a 2.0 liter at max efficiency

goodluck
