I want to know how much it hurts the performance on my logstyle when i weld a round pipe on a ,,square,, exhaust flange

asking if transitioning from round to square on a log manifold is like asking a 350lb fat chick if she put on 5 more pounds if she would no longer be able to run the NYC marathon... in the end, you're already pretty much FUBARed to start with, so, it really doesnt matter.

why not connect the two ports with a hunk of square or rectangular 1/4" walled tube? would flow better than that, and would be quick, cheap and easy...

cut relief cuts into the round tubing and make the round tubing square.

hmmmm i was thinking about that too

grouping the ports together........... yeahh call me -----, but iam worry about the turbulence inside, if i just merge two exhaust ports into one

actualy
oldsmobile guys should know it since they have a head with basicaly the same port design in the middle

Not trying to point out the obvious, but that would not be a preferred method. You want to reduce any sharp corners, or mis-matched pipe transitions.

Exhust gases going into the "collecters" on either side of that pic would be fine until they came to the tubular pipe, where they run into a flat wall. If a transition was made, or all the "corners" and mis-matched pieces were ported/filled with weld to make smooth seamless transitions, then it wouldnt be a "bad" design, but still could be improved tremendously.
