knock sensor

hmm, thats wierd, cuz i know more then 10 people without the knock sensor, and the CEL doesnt even come on, these are on 0bd0 and 1 and 2 cars... so the price is wrong my friend, even though you chip ecu's you are wrong. For example, there is a SIR 2 b16a in a 92 civic si infront of my house with a p30 ecu and no knock sensor, no CEL, and another example my Accord h22a with p72 with no Knock sensor, and it runs just fine, doesnt through a CEL (but it does throw the code..) Vtec still works, all that ----, on both cars that are infront of my house, same with my other friends..
no you don't have to. you will get the code (23), but your cel, won't be on and there are no affects from it, i found this out the hard way, i broke my knock sensor (literally broke it apart) and then just assumed my cel was on from it, so i didn't check my codes, after i was informed that a knock sensor won't cause the symptoms i had, i checked my codes, and i had forgot to hook my tps back up
now that i did, the car runs fine, i get a cel for my iac for some reason, but the engine still shows the code for the knock sensor.
