Hey, State Patrol sent me a letter saying something like Dear Registered Owner:
Our office recently received a report from a concerned citizen that litter was seen coming from a vehicle registered to you, with license plate number ***-***. The incident was observed on 9/28/2003, southbound on I-405 and Hwy 167 near Renton. The report was "passenger threw out an aluminum can." We need your help in eliminating litter from our highways and local communitiesby using litterbags and trash receptacles and securing your load. You could save yourself some money in the process.

Littering is against the law. Violations include deliberate throwing of items, uncovered or unsecured loads, and illegal dumping. Had a law enforcement officer rather than a citizen seen this, the drvier could have been fined between $103 and $1025.

Then it listed all the fines and ---- for different kinds of litter. They sent me the nicest trash bag, not like a ghetto one but one like a hefty bag with the drawstring and everything. They even tossed in one free foil-lined paper disposable ashtray. How sweet! I think the littering was of little concern compared to the fact of "some guy who likes cheap beer" cracking one open in the back before noon while we were racing on the freeway. Nice. Had to throw out the cans cuz it's illegal to have an open alcohol container in the vehicle.

 

hahah, terry thats pretty funny. I remember dave throwing out a few cans. I ran a few over in the van. Didnt one of those cans like hit a car?

 

I'm always trying to secure my load on the freeway.
