D16y8. Built mini ram for a tdo4l off a subbie. Cutting off internal wastegate, welding flaper shut. Running external wastegate.
My question is. If I run like a 2lbs spring..can I get away with this untuned. Cuz I'm driving across canada next month 4000km and won't have time or $ to do obd2-obd1 conversion plus have it tuned.
Or should I try I get the old stock manifold back on there.

Be safe. Save money (potentially) get old mani back on.

 

you could be ghetto and put check valves in the map lin to get the ecu to not read boost.map would still see a psi or a few psi. (If you were not running enough check valves). The ecu won't trip below 2 or so... or you could use the afc method. Or buy a socketed ecu and a burner. Jumpers are 60 bux on ebay...

Nver boosted before. And wasntbsure hownit wpuld turn out.bil wait til after the drive before hoking everything up.

actually, this may be the only time an FMU is the right answer. that would work if you had a missing link or something to block the map from seeing boost

 

I think I'll just leave it stock till arive there.
