Default 1989 plymouth reliant

i just bought an 89 reliant (it's a k car i know)
with the 2.5 fuel injected engine in it and a factory 5 speed (which i have never seen before)
and i was thinking about turboing it but don 't know how best to do it for a few reasons
first off it's got a single throttle body injector (i was thinking of using a "5th" injector right before the throttle body but don't know if i would need 1 or 2 or if i could just get away with an fmu and using the stock tb injector?)
also i was thinking of a t25 turbo (2g dsm to be more specific)
im not looking for big numbers (the car is factory rated at 100hp @ 4600rpm and 136ft-lbs at like 2600rpm) somthing like 140whp sounds good on low boost, just enough to make it more fun to drive

also instead of running an fmu or injector with a controller if there any way i can tune the factory ecu? (somthing like chrome, turbo edit,ect.ect.)

any recomendations are help if much appriciated

annother though, i found a dodge shadow es turbo with a blown up tranny
so im thinking i might just buy the entire shadow and either throw the good 5speed from the reliant in it or the turbo engine in the reliant (which i think would more fun as the reliant is so ------- ugly it would be the perfect sleeper)

has anyone ever put a turbo k car engine in a factory non turbo k car?
how hard was it?
is it a direct swap?
is there any wiring needed or could i just pull the non turbo 2.5 and computer and throw in the turbo engine and computer with factory engine mounts and all?

Just put the reliant trans in the shadow and call it a day. They are both sleepers. Its a Shadow for f***s sake, not a Turbo Z daytona. No one will suspect it.

If it was a honda, Id say do the engine/wiring swap but since its a dodge its gonna be a pain. Keep it simple.

Good luck.

well i just looked at the shadow and it looks pretty rusty and beat up but the engine was rebuilt 30k ago (or so im told)
i might be picking up just the turbo engine, blown up tranny, and all the wiring, ecu for next to nothing

I would look for a shadow/daytona/omni/spirit/duster forum to find out the specifics of the wiring part of the swap. All I know is the turbo cylinder head is slightly different than the nonturbo version. People use the turbo head on the n/a block for bandit class short track racing. Something about the valves being bigger or stronger, not sure. They also made a couple different versions of the turbo 2.2 engines. Some were a lot stronger than others, specifically in the shelby models. There is tons of info out there, just gota know where to look. There is actually a huge turbo caravan following so you could check into that too.

My buddy had a reliant back in the day with a couple 15 subs in the back. Be prepared to replace the rear shocks on those cars too, they dont last long.

Good luck and dont forget about fuel too. They may have used a larger pump in the Shadow ES. It wouldnt surprise me if the gear ratios varied between the 2 trannies also, the ES trans being a better ratio of course.

All I will say and should need to say is get rid of the reliant, its a terrible car to begin with so if I were you and wanted to have a fast car you can build, pick up a different car.
