resistors for 450's

a quick question for you guys!

when putting inline resistors in all i do is cut the black/yellow wire and solder each side of the wire to an end of the resistor and then tape it all up?

Are the resistors polarized? + or - on which end?

uhmmm I think you just have to put it in between and it will work..
