dsm450's and obd2...what should i do
okay heres the deal. i have a 96 integra b18b and i've pretty much got all the parts for my turbo setup. just waiting for my wideband controller from 14point7.com and i need a bov. but anyways heres my situation.
Seeing that my car is a 96, i still need to take emissions but thats not stopping me from boosting. My original plan was when the time came to take the test, just keep the stock wastegate open(the plan is to not make anyboost) and put in the stock injectors and plug in the stock ecu, let it warm up and then take the test without having to remove all the other components. Not sure if this plan will work but in my head it will
Any ideas?
The one thing that im trying to work out is using dsm 450's with my stock obd2 injector clips. I wanna be able to switch the 450's with my stock ones but im lost on how to make this work cause i know i'll have to either get obd1 or dsm clips BUT then i wont be able to use my stock injectors. I know RC makes something for like $70 but yea dont wanna pay that. I'd rather just hit up a boneyard and do it myself. Any ideas on what i would need to accomplish this?

first of you wont pass visual with the turbo on, unless your in a state that doesnt care bout visual inspections (i live in cali)
and i think but am not sure but the 2nd gen 450's and like the obd2 plugs are similar
like you have to pinch them to remove unlike the obd1 metal wire ones.
so they may be able to fit with little to no modification but i havent tried so
dont take my word for it hope that helps out.

yea i live in IL and all the emission test i've taken with the cars we own only required them to plug into the obd2 port and have no CEL's and then i drive off as soon as thats done.
yea i bought a set of bluetops where the guy already modded the injectors to the fit the obd1 clips(shaved the inside). i guess i'll have to pull off an injector clip and see if they fit.
if all else fails, i'll just solder some obd1 clips or dsm clips in place of the stock clips and then the one day i need to i'll switch them out.
what if i solder obd1/dsm injector clips onto the stock clips without removing the stok clips? so i would have both obd1/dsm clips AND obd2 clips? do you think that would have an interference with the injectors? Im trying to avoid doing this also cause it probably would look messy as hell and wanna keep my engine bay clean but its just an option.

when i run the 450's i modify the inj itself to fit my clip, so i can allways use the stock plugs, but im also obd1, so i dont know the diffrence in clips, but i have run both obd1&2 450's with the same method.
dont know if that helps.
what are you gonna use for enigne management btw?

hmmm if you've run obd1&2 AND 450's like that...i might just wire up some obd1 clips and just trim the injector to fit the clip
but i might as well try to make the 450's fit the obd2 clips
oh and im gonna be using crome to tune my car. i've been reading up on xenocron's tech section and its pretty helpful. anyone have any other good links to share? first car i'm gonna actually tune and dont wanna blow it up.
