Default New here, 11.9 sec classic mini :)

Registered as researching quick spool valves, and seems like theres a healthy amount of knowlege,

Car is a mini clubman (the origional mini clubman) with an engine i imagine none of you have seen before, its the rover k-series, quite an odd construction in that the cylinder head bolts hold the crank in too, but very light and ideal for alight car like the mini.

pic is a mockup to check a few clerances hence the mess and general un-evenness

cars currently off the road for chassis work as the origional suspension was designed to cope with 50whp, not 300+ and was flexing a little too much, making it to much of a handfull for driving around on a sunny day.

Engine is 1400cc, turbo is a T28 from a nissan pulsar GTI-r 30psi of boost, AEM water meth injection 50/50 and squirted ans sparked by megasquirt and tuned on the road.
in this guise she has went 11.9@118 before running a gudgen pin out the side of the piston, winning my class at an event called "the mini showdown" which is a race car class(as its a non-mini engine), and i made the 700 mile round trip in the mini always fun driving home overtaking the other cars on trailors!

stock bottom end doesnt like 8300rpm apparently

keen to keep ahead of the game so need a bigger turbo and more boost. Have settled on a holset hx35 with the 12cm housing, as the compressor map looks idea for the range of bottom ends avalible (1400,1600 and 1800cc) and up to 45psi, and will start off with the 1600cc and see how the liners hold then either bite the bullet and go for the "weaker" 1800cc or go back down to 1400. the 1600 and 1800 share the same liners, but the 1800 has a less favourable rod angle due to the 10mm extra stroke. the 1400 has much thicker liners. as you can imagine i need to spool this turbo somehow, could resort to spray for the strip, but i like to use the car daily if its nice out, and gas is expensive! im sure the 1800 will spool it ok, but the 1400 has no chance!

anyways, hope i'v not bored you all!

Origional build here :- http://www.16vminiclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3208 its a bit legnthy as im probably one of about 5 people in the country who have turbocharged one of these engines so try to document everything to help others!
