New guy on board
Hi all, my name is Phil. I am working on a 1999 Chevy Astro van. I have already transplanted a 350 v8 into, stage 2 is to turbocharge it. I plan on doing a remote mount turbo system since space is a premium under the hood. Already have Hedman shorty headers that are ceramic coated. Only thing up in the air is should i run a single or twins. Been researching a bit on the remote mount systems. I'm not a newb to turbos, just remote systems. I only plan to run around 5-7 psi to start, then take it up from there once the 350 is built to take the abuse.
Welcome to HMT
Although Astros are short on space (they are fun to work on, aren't they? lol) I think the twin turbo setup would really awaken the engine. Just be acareful and get something that wont send rods through the block. Remote setups are always an interesting challenge, just remember to keep it simple, and plan it all out
