o compression in a cylinder

um you'll usually see a hole in a piston with a valve hugging it

dude u r serious i bet right, cause if so that is just retarded putting oil in the cylinder will not give it compression, it a false reading due to the movement of the piston not to mention it will ---- up ur compression tester

well obviously you don know ---- b/c the oil seals the gaps between the rings so if it has compression after you put oil in it its a good way to tell if you rings are bad. My car had 30 cpr when i put a capfull of oil in it went up to 180 were all my other cylenders were after the oil burnt off it went back down to 30 after a quick hone new rings my motor is fine. just b/c there is no cp in a cylender doenst automaticly meen the head is fucked.

It's probably not the rings, unless they exploded. If the rings were fucked up in any normal way he'd be getting low compression, not zero compression. Something is seriously wrong, like a missing, bent, fucked up valve or a whole in the piston.

bent valve will not yield 0 compression. Many people run with bent valves common mistake when a t belt breaks they just slap a new belt on. A bent valve will yiled poor performance and a ---- idle but it'll get ya to the bk lounge

I have blown up more motors then most small towns have so trust me if it is 0 compression there is a hole in a piston

very true

The last motor we toasted was a 05 hyundai tiburon 2.0L on 75 shot of juice. I did a compressoin test and get 0# in the #1 cyl. there was no hole in the piston, but one of the valves was bent and had a hole in it. If its that far gone putting some oil in the cylinder wont give you some magic compression numbers.

I will def. agree if you have 0# compression you def. have a hole in somthing.
