I ordered a "zc" transmission from quit quit on ebay, It had longer gears than my old si tranny but it did use a half shaft and equal length axles. Ive been running it for about 3 oil changes and Im not very nice to it And today it got its revenge. I dropped it from 3rd to second and chirped the tires than there was nothing. My engine just ran and there were grinding noises. There is no visable damage so im wondering what parts inside the tranny would go first? Is it the diff?

So can I put my si diff in the zc tranny and run unequal length axles? And the engine runs great. Ive put a couple thousand miles on it at 5psi and its a lot of fun.

there was no lsd to begin with so all I would be losing would be the equal length shafts.

i might be wrong so talk to mista bone he is a d-series tranny god,

but i think the only thing cool about the zc tranny is the 3rd gear, and i think the only thing not cool in the si tranny is the 3rd gear. so i personally would just take the 3rd gear out of there. then you would have a really good si tranny. but i could be wrong so ask him.

I searched around last night and sounds like you hit it on the nose. I also noticed that my tranny case is junk so can I use the zc gears in the si housing with the si diff.

The reason I stopped using the si tranny is that it started getting loud and would grind into 3rd and 2nd sometimes.

I should have time to get the tranny out sometime this week. Ill take pics of the carnage I find.

what is your motor setup??

Boosted, the ZC 3-4 into the Si case might be too much, perfect for NA D15 though

im running a a6 ill be boosing up to 12 psi or so. Im looking into a dohczc tranny, do you think that would be to shor of gears for boost?
