ZC nad DX Automatics!!!HELP!!!!!
 

ok basically i just did a zc swap into my dx automatic.. and i am running a pr4 ecu from a 5spd integra.. however i am having tranny shifting problems..

is it possible i need to use an ecu from an automatic integra instead of a 5 spd since i still am running my auto dx tranny?

That is very correct, the automatic tranny will normally freak out if you have a 5speed ecu in there. Get a automatic ecu, and you should be fine. Are you getting any codes?

well the only coeds that i keep gettin are for the cylinder position sensor on the exhast cam shaft part of the motor but other than that the car runs fine just ic has no pickup whatsoever..

my friend had the same problem with his crx with the engine code. it ended up being the two wires off the distributer being backwards. switched them around and boom.

thanx for the info however i get the code no matter which way the wires a r hooked up but it will only crank and run one way .. so i think the wires a r hooked up right its just throwing a code for some reason.. or maybe the sensor could be bad but i already replaced it.. or it could be a matter of i am using the wrong ecu

Ya thats wierd... ecu i would think would have issues with an auto tranny. but those wires he had backwards, the car still ran either way. so i dunno if we r talking bout the same wires. We did his swap into a si tho. ill pop by his work and double check the location and etc...

Just came back from his shop... it was the wires comming out of the cam sensor. i took a few pics so if u want i can send them to ya.

so your running MPFI in a auto? you need a 90-91 Civic EX auto ECU, a PS9....

ok i am just now realizing when i said ZC i should have mentioned that its a true JDM zc which is a dohc not an sohc there for do i need somethign different frmo the ps9 since it is sohc?

well the DOHC ZC (both the 1.6l SOHC and 1.6l DOHC non-VTEC's are "ZC" motors) wont be being used to its full potental will an ECU from a SOHC car BUT nor is attaching it to a auto tranny, and its your only choice as far as i know...

btw good luck finding a PS9, its hella ------ rare...

ok well i found a PS9 ecu on tuesday and i'll be getting it by this comming tuesday.. i'll let you know when i get it in my car if i am stil lhaving issues.. thnx everyone for all of your help and suggestions..

if your runing a dohc zc you should use the ecu from a 88-89 integra automatic. it has a higher redline than a ps9 and its made for the combo your runing. if you stick with the ps9 you wont use your engine to its max potential. lates

cuz its for SOHC ? ..

only thing I can think of its try a JDM ZC Auto ECU (if u can find 1) or a 88-89 teg auto ecu.

ok cuz i just really gettin pissed of.. i mean its noones fault i just need my car running and is it p[ossible its not the ecu? i mena i hjave bought 3 and have a total of 4 now.. i really don;t wanna buy anymore..

its still controling a SOHC tranny, i think that its not wired up right. the PS9 has the ---- inside to control the lock up soliniods and ---- the 88-89 Integra DOES NOT (think it has a seperate computer to control AT features), i remember someone going threw this on the CRX Resource board, he ended up getting the PS9 from what i remember.

if you dont want the PS9 ECU i will buy it...

your car is gona be runing shitty because your using a sohc ecu on a dohc motor. it does make a big difference. the zc needs more fuel and timing than a sohc engine. plus the ps9 has a 6500rpms redline and i think the zc is much higher than that. use 88-89integra ecu from an auto. just sell all the ecus that you have now and get the right one. oh and it does work with the trany you have, trust me ive done this swap twice before.
