Why would you want to do that? The a6 rods/pistons are fine.

Your compression would be the same as a D16Z6 block with a D16Y8 head.
Basiclly still around 9.5/1 compression.

If you want lower compression, use either a D16A6 block with Z6 rods/pistons and A6 head
Or
D16Z6 block with A6 head

Either way use the non-vtec head.

I use the d16Z6 block with D16B2 head ( same as A6 with crapper cam basiclly the same either way ).

I was doing a D16Z6 full motor swap and I couldn't get it to run for ---- !! I converted it to OBD1 with a harness and P-28 ecu, I replace dizzy, ECUs, and intake manifolds to try and fit it, but it never ran... I had a HMT ready to put together, so finally reallized that by swapping my old non-vtec head on would still work. I put the old non-vtec head on, removed all the OBD1 crap, and first time I cranked it, it started right up. I'm ( as far as I know ) the first person you do the "un-mini-me" as I've dubbed it...

its around 8.4/1 compression, depending on which head gasket you use.

Runs great.

no, he's saying that putting the Z6 pistons in an A6 block, as a combination, will act like a stock Z6 block where compression is concerned.

D16A6 block + Y8 head = ~10.3:1 compression
above + Z6 pistons = ~9.5:1 compression
D16Z6 block + Y8 head = ~9.5:1 compression

yep, right now you have like 10.3/1 compression, the Z6 pistons will only drop it into the mid 9s/1 area..

Me no likely vtec and turbo together anyway...
