Default to z6 or not to z6

ok i know this may have been gone over before but i have no personal experiance with this so here i go. right now i have d16(thats all it said on block but it had p28 pistons in it) i put pm6 pistons in it, and a d15 head. now what im running into a problem makeing power at higher rpms, at about 5500-6000 the power drops off some. im thinking it is do to the cam and head that are on it.so i was wondering if it would be worth it to put a z6 head on it or maybe put an a6 cam or aftermarket cam? the engine was just thrown together after my d16a6 took a dump(no longer have a6 to rob the cam off of it). the engine will be turbod as soon as i finish the set up. so that i can blow it up.

B2 - it's four times weaker than the B7.

The head, as a core, is the same as the A6... the B2 cam and springs are crappy, though.

Swap heads or swap cam/springs.

The Beater Deluxe is an 89 DX, converted to OBD1, running a B7. I had revlimit set to 7400, although stock is 6800 or somesuch, and lacking a tach I ASSumed that I was overrevving slightly shifting 1-2 at 30 mph and 2-3 at 60 mph. You can feel the power begin to fade noticeably about those speeds/gears. When I set shiftlight CEL to 6800 - Lo and Behold! - it doesn't come on until 37 mph in first, 65 mph in second. Nothing wrong with timing, either, have plenty of 99-00 Si owners ask me what I've dropped in it. B16CRXT can attest it's nothing fast but better than stock 75 hp mill. Given power and weight, I'm approx as fast as a healthy 88-91 Si.

It's all in the cam. Have an A6 unit here, too lazy to install, but SOON!
