I've also seen this on some y8 engines, bottom end failure due to shitty oil pumps. If it was my engine, I would sport a 88-95 Oil pump any d15/d16 and use that on the engine, but you would have to use a 88-95 oil pan. the 96+ oil pans are werid (aluminum) and require you to use the y8/y7 oil pump (with obd2 & the front crank sensor)

Ive had a y8 oil pump kill my motor... then again there was no oil to pump
