y8 minime w/graphite hg

anyone ever used a graphite hg when doing a minime swap.im concerned about using a metal gasket because of not having the block decked.opinions welcome.but i would like to know if anyone has done it,and had problems.thanks.

If you are boosting it don't run a fiber hg. Blocks don't generally need to be decked anyway.

I wouldnt use copper spray with the graphite Hg, just clean the deck real well with a wheezie wheel, or a peice of sand paper attached to a block. It will come clean. Metal HG's are the way to go..

I normally just use a razor blade and carefully scrape the excess HG material off. Then a bit of acetone to clean the film off. and finally i give it a once over with a Drywall hand sander , cleans up pretty good.

Make sure the sheet is on there nice and tight.

Attachment 10080
