Damn, I really want to run the y8 intake manifold on my y8 swap, but I'm not sure what all sensors I'll have to contend with to make this happen. Has anyone done this before? I'd hate to have to use the small a6 IM. :P

Yes... works fine, just no dashpot and no coolant idle valve thingy on the throttle body (may cause idle issues but I doubt it)... also, I believer there's an extra coolant outlet...

 

oh wait... i didn't see that it was going ON a y8... will work perfect...

 

Wait, so your saying I can do this?!?! I already have it glass beaded and ported to accept the ls throttle body. woo hoo!!! I'll dedicate this thing to the first person to come up with a large A6 picture so I can match it up.

 

yeah... the only thing is you gotta move the map wires from the firewall to the throttle body, as well as the wires for the evap purge solenoid (unless you'd like to reroute the evap can purge vacuum lines to the firewall, or bypass that gay solenoid alltogether), but other than that, should be fine...

Yeah, if I had a pic of the A6, I could hold my y8 up to the computer and evaluate both. That would be great.

 

if you have a B18A1 LS throttle body, it will have the provision for the firewall map sensor vacuum line. in that case, hook it up just like the stock one.
