Default Y7 vs Y8

what is the difference (if any) between a Y7 bottom end and a Y8 bottom end? I've been told too many different things to trust any of it.

The y7and y8 have the exact same outer block config, it did look like the sleaes on the y7 was thicker than a y8 but i dident measure. hell teh y7 redline is 6800 RPM and the y8 is 7000 RPM so not to much diffrence there. The y7 also has a spot for the knock sensor and it is tapped for one. Also the blocks are tapped as if you are able to put some sort of intermediate shaft in there.. they are threaded and able to put a bolt in them. The flywheel IS diffrent, And if i remember right the y7 shares the same part numbers for the crank, the timing belt, oil pump, rear main, and water pump. soo whatever you get first use it, i dont knwo about the rods or pistons tho.. thy might be diffrent but i doubt it.

so ifi'm gonna build a block it wont matter if its a y8 or a y7? youthink the y7 actually might have thicker sleeves? hmm.

but why do people do Y7/Y8 mini me's? are they only gonna make the stock y8's 127 crank horsepower? or is there something there that makes more power?

i dunno, i know if you stick a z6 head on a y8 block with a z6 headgasket is lowers the compression to like 9.0 to 1
