My friend instaled buddy club spec 3 cams, spoon camgears, port and polished head, SS exhaust, aem intake, 4,5 kgs flywhell and costum ECU map(old setup map) and made 181 HP on the motor, 135 HP at the whells and 138 Nm torque and his car is been beated by several others CRX´s with only Intake and exhaust and many less power than his. What could be wrong? Any guesses? I´m thinking about the ECU map altough the car made all that power in the dyno.. Please give your advices. Thanks.

maybe your friend doesn't know how to launch properly, or doesn't know how to race his car good.

 

I´ve think that but that´s not the problem since I´ve saw him driving. He´s not a pro for sure but also isn´t that bad. The problem is really in rhe car. Also my 5th Gen hatch with b16a2 with the same bolt ons as he except for the cams is way faster than his car. I´ve drove it for a while and the car isn´t really running good....

 

1. the "engine hp" is nothing more then calculated from the wheel HP. so dont say it's 180, cuz it might not be.

2. what's his ecu map? "old setup" means jack to me and the rest of HMT.

3. what are the cam settings?

4. his car should be making more then 135WHP! i bet his cams aren't set right. or the ecu program is messin it all up.

 

dont stock b16a's make 135-140 at the wheels??

 

Cam timing is wrong. Air/fuel wrong. Ignition timing wrong. The list can go on. Thats why is made bad power. Cams/head/t-belt installed wrong?

 

stock b16s make 135whp. 160 at the crank.

 

Hmmmmm...yeah 135 hp is on par or a bit below stock hp.
...I bet it has to do with Cam timing etc...different cams...make use of the adjustable cam gears...
