wtf is this business?
everybody I talk to local (including my dad who doesn't really like Hondas and some guys who have fast Hondas) say I should go B-series.
Everybody I have talked to on here says to stay with my D series and build it for turbo.
hit me with some discussion on this issue.

Re:wtf is this business?
D series motors are cheap to build and cheap to rebuild. They are also lighter than B series motors.
B series motors are a bit more expensive to build and rebuild. They have more potential and are stronger from the factory.
This is just a basic description to describe the difference as simple as possible without getting into bore/stroke ratios and sleeve designs. :P
If you have a pocket ful of money and want to build a crazy race Honda, buy a B series and follow the rest of the import world. If you are on a budget, but still want a raced out Honda, buy a D series and build the ---- out of it with the money you saved and be original.

Re:wtf is this business?
see....even the weakest B series motor (B18A1) is stronger than your strongest D series motor (ZC or D16Z6). i bought my complete swap for around 1300 including my mounts and shift linkage for a B18A1...but i just got good deals on the mounts (thanks BoostedBseries ) and a custom shiftlinkage. personally i would say get a B series and just slowly build it for awhile...keep it in ur garage and have fun with it like i did...i build mine for 6 months and im about to drop it in my car in a couple weeks. i dont have alot of money either but im getting there, and the motor is finished and i even put a LSD in my tranny too...nothing like spinning both tires...yes a D series can be fast but a B series can WHOOP some ***. Personally if i were you, buy a B series and just use what you have now til you get what you want built.
