Maybe rod bolts to tight, wrong bearings or lack of oil, but it would show this in others parts of the engine as well

Looks like someone definitely f*cked up on building a motor to spec. What a shame. At least now you can go through it, know what's good, and build it to YOUR specifications. Good luck man.

cant you spec the clearances on the other rods and see how far off those clearances are. I believe most everyone buys them in sets. Not sure though Im a noob and never rebiult a lower end. Educate me please. Thanks

check the oil pump and spring, ive noticed the oil pumps have fatuge/stress cracks in them..

did you build the engine or did you get it built you are always better to check clearance of the bearings with plastigague then you know its in tolerance

plastiguage doesnt tell you if thiers a taper in the bearing journal, you a good small dail bore guage and it gives you a better view.
