LOL, can you proove that? Nothing beats OEM quality, and the underlying layers of metal really have nothing to do with bearing failure, why infact the softest metal in your engine is on the surface of the bearing
OEM bearings are not the best :-p

there are really expensive ones that are better!

Steve, is that just a image problem or are there pits and little pieces of cyl wall in there poking up?

nothing beats oem quality? so your saying oem is better than a clevite 77 or a ACL ok buddy, whatever makes you crazy ------ canadians sleep at night
yep, thats what I was implying but I'm guessing you have nothing to back up your statements where I have installed and used various aftermarket bearings and seen the results. Go ask the race engine builders what they use for bearings

Yeah same here, I'm rebuilding my B18 Ls/Vtec and need to hone it and put in new rod/main bearings. What Grit should I use to hone the cylinders and should it be a ball hone? And finally what do I use to set the ring gaps in my new pistons and where can I find what the gaps should be? Thanks

The things that you are seeing in the cylinder is drops of oil. (I saw that too and was like )

Jeff, I tried to find a ball hone, but nobody had one. After some of the ---- I've seen you do you can't start getting technical with my hone job. :P

I'm not spending $100 on new bearings when the new ones look fine. They are either good, or not good.

A V8 friend of mine (that has been around more motors/race cars/ ect. than anyone I know told me that bearings are bearings and that all the hype the honda guys talk about is bullshit. Especially the one where "you should only use factory bearings in a honda". :P
