Alright so I have been taring down my D16y8 cause the damn thing leaked all the oil out and blew up. well Its my daily so i need to trow this dude back togeher and i have been sorta postin ---- here. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=87739.0
well i got my a crank and ive got the old one out but I'm not sure if these journals are fucked or not. I think 1 & 4 spun, I know for a fact that 1 did and it just looks like 4 did as well or was trying. as you can see from pics 2 and 3 look great but 1 and 4 didn't look like them and since they are the ones that spun i dont know if i shoud just slap the new ---- in there or if it will just spin again . On with pics and I will throw a little **** in the end for good measure
Journal 4 Does this look ok?

Journal 1 this is darker than all the others.

Heres teh chewed up bearing that came out. Pretty obvious Oil stavtion :1

So does 1 and 4 look ok? heres what 2 and 3 look like

I looked into it but all the motors i found were like 80K and up for like 800-1000 bucks and so far this rebuild is gonna cost like 450. I'd be real ------ pissed to swap out a motor for close to a grand just to have it start smokin after a while. ---- that.

crank is junk

buy a jdm d15b longblock. You should be able to score one for around 600 shipped or so. Even cheaper if you have an importer near you. They run usually 450+ picked up complete
