It fits...it's a D-series..just use the EG stock mounts and your stock tranny.
The wiring will be something to worry about

yup, bolt right in no problem. Just be sure to use the injectors from the previous engine, and somehow modify the distributor to fit on the ZC engine. I've heard rumors that the Z6 will almost fit. You will also need to use a map sensor from a 88-91 civic/crx since its normally mounted on the 92+ throttle body. Also need to use the mount on the engine (behind timing cover) from the 92+ engine on the ZC block. You will have to extend the wires from the thermostat housing (cooling fan wires) to teh back of the block. Couple little things here and there, but it will go in. As far as ecu? definatly a chipped P28 is the only thing that will work for you.

wouldn't is just be easier to buy a OBD-1 DOHC ZC, with grey plug wiring harness?

Why, yes it would!

Most places will also include the ZC ECU with the motor!

Oh thats right they do make those!!! duhh..

but considering they made them for what? 1 year and they are very rare to ever find at jdm import engine shops. I've never seen one in our 3 local shops and they get huge *** containers monthly. So swapping on the little things here and there to make it work is worthwhile.

Really? do you have any proof of this?

The only OBD1 DOHC ZC's that were ever made were from the JDM 1992 Civic 5th gen EG 20th anniversay. Civic's and Teg's came with SOHC ZC's and some variants of the SOHC Vtec ZC. But the only OBD1 ZC that I know of was proudced in 92 and it was the last year of the DOHC zc.
