when I rev to 2k rpm it drops to almost to 0k, but if I rev to 3k it will stay?

I just swapped the motor/tranny and this is my first time working with a light weight flywheel and 6 puck clutch. The problem is very annoying, when I rev the engine to let go of the clutch, I have to rev it to around 3k. If I rev it to 2k then the rpm will just suddenly drop for no reason to almost 0 rpm the shoot back up to 2k. I dont think this has anything to do with the clutch since my problems occur when the clutch is pressed in.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Please help.

Thanks,
Nick

flywheel way too light maybe? How light is it?

7 or 8 lb

so if the flywheel is too light the car will not be able to hold constant RPM in the lower RPM range (< 3k)?

might wanna check the TPS and other sensors.

The ECU is cutting fuel as it is seeing the 2000 rpms as a "runaway condition"

Do you also have a lightweight crank pulley or any other pulleys?

If it is too light the whole assembly, it could happen. I have problems sometimes with the WRX, crank pulley and lightweight, 13lb, flywheel, if I shift slow after reving high, sometimes it goes down to 0, but as soon as I pop the clutch it turns on. When I break it dips down to 400-500 and back up to idle which is around 800rpms.

also the CEL light will pop on for a second when this happens, but it goes away usually pretty quickly.

Only the CEL or all the lights.....
Check all your sensors. This is a tough one..... ??? ???

looks like its the TPS, i just plug another in and it works, I have set the correct voltage settings so it bogs ass at WOT, but its not longer having problems hold partial throttle.
