Just wanted to know what degree of advance or retard everyone has found to work best on either your NA or Boosted applications...

 

withe the nonboosted i advanced that sucker all the way to 10 with no prob on my 96 d-16y7 past that depending on the kind of gear you have you will get pre ever ona normal motor under acceleration. with boost you can do the same if if if you have a boost timing master from MSD. other wise 1 or 2 degrees will do.

 

One tooth on the cam gear = 12 degrees right? so the ten degrees of +/- adjustment shouldn't leave anyone worrying about valve interference.....(unless your timings not right to startwith!! ) I'vefound that 3degrees of advance works very well with my current setup....advancing beyond that didn't seem to improve things at all.....

Works pretty, well I need to do some dyno tuning to see how much more I can advance it.

our buddy nick has his at like 15deg on the intake cam but his car is far from stock.
