What tranny is better for my setup I got Dx or Si/Ex? I did a Mini Me turbo (D16Y7 w/98 Vtec head). I just got this turbo setup put in but not sure what tranny is better for it. HELP PLEASE......I have a 94 DX hatchback tranny, 96 Cx tranny and 93 Ex tranny from a coupe.

 

uh...swap them out and find out.

 

I just put in my y8 with a dx tranny and I love it. I cruise the streets in 5th sometimes, so I think the si may be overrated for street use. Dx seems more plentiful anyway.

 

use the cx tranny, its a better combo for the turbo

 

u want top end stick to the dx. for drag get the si

steve of course u love that dx tranny. anything is better than the hf your used to :P

 

arent the 88-91 dx and si trannies the same except for final drive

I've ran into differences in the 88-89 Si trannies. I think there is a heavy duty version out there, the spline has one more tooth (something like that, been a while since I had one apart).

 

im basing this on memory but 88 has 20 teeth and 89+ 21
