what octane would be needed for between 12.5:1-12.9:1 compression

Higher the better, JDM engines run a higher compression ratio and use 100 ron.

yeah ive heard japan has higher octane fuels than we do bastards they get all the cool stuff cars,fuel,technology haha. but seriously I was thinking probably 100 or 101 but wasnt sure. thanks for imput

why not just keep a 55 gal. drum of VP at home, anything over 11:1 I would use race fuel or just retard the timing a few degrees (so you dont ping it to death) and run high octane pump gas

Just to clarify, higher octane does NOT equal more power. You should only run the minimum octane needed to fend off detonation.

This is true. A friend of mine just went to the hondata seminar, and he said that they recommend tuning for the lowest octane possible while still avoiding knock.
