What does spinning a bearing actually mean?
dosent the bearing seize to the crank and spin out of place from the lack of oil.im probably wrong but i do know sometimes it does hurt the block.but i think ive heard of like having them machined and putting oversized bearings in or something like that but im prob wrong. just what ive always thought
i think what he means is that once you scar the journals then in order to get that fixed you either need the crank spraywelded and reground (not worth it) or get one from another car which will be a serious PITA because then you have to resize all the bearings in the bottom end because your dealing with a different block and different rods etc... or you can get another engine and not worry about it.

, then you have main bearings that sit between the block and crank. if you "spin" a bearing, more than likely you'll need a new crank, sometimes you can get them micropolished, but just b/c you need a new crank, doesn't mean you need a new block, they're are people with busted blocks (cracked sleeves, etc.), that will sell the cranks for next to nothing.
