What did I ---- up in my tranny
I assembled my transmision for my project CRX a 91 LS cable tranny with a OBX LSD and it went pretty smooth this being only the second tranny I have done. Now when i tested it on the bench it seamed to go through the gears fine. Now that I have the tranny+motor in car i was cutting the Teg linkage to fit and thought maybe i cut it to short as it does not want to go into 1,3 and 5th.It shifts nice and smooth into 2,4 and reverse.I took the linkage off and tried manually putting it into the three gears 1,3 and 5 by hand but no go.Im about to pull the tranny back out as Im assuming something is wrong with the change holder/shift linkage inside and I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to what may have happened.I also had some grief getting on of the DSS axles to go in and had to use a drift to try to get it to seat all the way and also at one point tried punching it back out to inspect the splines.Im wondering if maybe I jarred something loose or it is unrelated. This sucks as a 6-8 month project was just about done I'm just waiting on a coil to arrive to fire it up and get the engine broke in

Yes reverse works and shifts pretty nice into it.I just dont have the three forward gears 1,3,5th.It feels smooth and shifts nice and crisp into the three gears I have.Im really confused as to what has happened. The tranny came out of a friends car as i had lent it to him and it was a fairly mint shifting LS cable tranny upon which I put a OBX diff in and new diff bearings.I didnt touch the gearsets other then too remove the the two shafts put them aside and reinstall them after diff shimming was done.

Re: What did I ---- up in my tranny
Well i just finished putting it back together.I found a little 6mm or something bolt that was lying in there underneath the shift rod and had rolled itself into the right spot preventing the shift rod from pulling back to go into 1,3 and 5th I remember when i had it apart working on it shimming the diff I spilled the container with the bolts&nuts and ending up losing one that i had to pillage from a old dead tranny :1 I guess I never seen it in there and must have eventually worked it self into the postion I found it in.Well glad it was a easy fix but none the less i fool like a tool.
