Did I -----up my engine?

Did I -----up my engine?
I bought an extra D16Z6 so I could beef it up with little to no down time. I only have one vehicle so this seems to be the best choice.
I borrowed a blazer to pick up my engine at the junk yard and I layed the engine on its side so it wouldn't beat the ---- out of the truck. Well, I think I fucked up, because when I measured the diameter of my throttle body my finger was covered in oil.
Do I just need to painstakingly clean my engine with degreaser or do I need a new intake manifold?
I hope this question doesn't shake anyone's faith in my engine building skillz

Re:Did I -----up my engine?
What goes up must come down. Put it upright again, with maybe a little more lean to drain the intake. It will probably smoke a lot when you start it.
Are you rebuilding this one? If so, than no biggie, just take it apart.

Re:Did I -----up my engine?
thanks man you just added years to my life; cause now I'm not stressin about my engine.
Yeah, I'm boring twenty over and building the lower end with forged parts; then I'll switch engines one afternoon, and I'll do the head work on the engine that was originally in my car. After that I'll do a head swap. The longest that I'll be down should be about 13-16 hours putting on my turbo, intercooler and making charge pipes. I just got It in the mail today, but ---- I still lack about $500 in ---- I need to put it in my car

Yeah, when I bought my D16A6 I hauled it back from Indiana to Columbus, ohio in the back of my dad's pickup.. it was tipped on it's face... there was an oil slick in the back of that truck for weeks... but then engine was fine.. no harm - no foul..

Re:Did I -----up my engine?
it just leaked back though the seals. like he said if you want to start it right away all you have to do is start it you like he said (smoke) then get a bottle of water bring the idle up too 2000 and hold spry down the intake. the idle will drop so keep it at 2000. spray untill you can see some white smoke come from the exhaust. the motor will be clean then run for 2 min and you should be good. but if yuo are rebuilding. no worries.
