whats a good way to clean a head surface (other then getting it resurfaced)? i had some gasket removing spray laying around that worked not so great and a plastic putty knife but its still has junk on it. friend told me a brass brush is ok to use too

I usually scrape all the crap off solvents and a blade then sand the surface lightly with 800 grit.
