weight of engine RX 8 , WRX EJ 20 ????
I am repowering a kit car ( Dino Ferrari replica ) , and need to know the weights , and also direction of rotation of the flywheel for these motors.
can someone supply a source for the weights of the following engines
Maxda RX 8 rotary engine
Subaru WRX EJ 20 engine
Toyota 4AGZE
Toyota 18RGUE
I want a lightweight engine , with 140-200 horsies.
any helpers with specifications
thankyou.

Most yota motors spin counter clockwise. I wouldn't go the 4agze route if you're looking for light (ie, they weight about 150 pounds + supercharger, etc). The 4age 20v would be fun, but you would have more NA potential if you went the 2zzge. Hopefully someone can chime in on those other engines.
why would you be interested in the rx8 motor? as far as i know, they have less power (due to more emmisisons) than the 3rd gen rx7... anyways, i would go with a bridgeported 13b from the fc(second gen rx7), maybe with a fat turbo
ravage , this car weighs under 900 kg with its current "heavy" 18RG, if i can get enough horsepower from a $ 1000 motor , that will do me just fine
I think RX 8 is 238 Bhp ,
1995 RX 7 - 255 Bhp
but i still cant get anyone to tell me the weights.
ps , this car is rear engined , not mid engined , so by having less weight behind the back axle , its cornering abilities will be improved , hence the desire to save weight.

The rotay's will weight less than the others anyday. Also an RX-8 is not a $1K motor, nore is the WRX motor.
Does this kit car already have a tranny? If not I would look at putting in an engine from a transverse front wheel drive car. The layout would be the same for you since it would be going in the rear. A nice D16 from a civic with a HMT turbo job on it would put you in the $1K range and 200whp range as well.

i would either do the d16 w/hmt or bridgeported and maybe turbo'd 13b.
