Default VX Transmission on SI Motor?

Im having problems with my second gear popping out on my current SI transmission. (d16z6). So I wanna pull it out to find the problem anyway. I have a spare VX (d15a1??) tranny from my old motor... and was gonna pop it on there today, and was thinking it might be better with the longer gears... being that with the turbo, 1st gear is basically useless right now anyway.

Anyone have any insight on this??

I have read that lsd won't work with the vx transmission for some reason..

Also, I do alot of autocross, so with a longer first, i would't have to shift as much, and could ride the gears out longer... but I also enjoy the speed, and going to the strip occasionally.

try the edit button retard.

ps - worst case scenario there Denise you don't like the transmission and you just have to swap it again. stop asking about it on the internet and just do it

Gonna cost about $150 to fix the Si tranny, countershaft clutch side bearing has walked out, and you've ruined 1-2 shifter fork trying to hold it in gear.......

$150 I can live with.
Anyone know if tranny parts are interchangeable... Ive got 2 extra trannys laying around (the VX, and an obd2 DX)... Ill talk to HOnda, and see how much they want for the parts.

you could us the shifter fork assembly out of the VX in the Si tranny, then tap the CS bearing back in and stake it with a center punch.......

The VX tranny is LONG!!

Like crazy long. I don't know if you have ever driven a VX before, but damn.

I used to have a stock VX and I had to down shift into 2nd some times to pass people on the freeway. lol

They are great for gas mileage though. And yeah, they will bolt right up to your motor.
