if it doesnt throw a check light than its probably working. the vtec on single's arent as dramatic as the dohc vtec motors

Re:vteck kiking
What you can do is go to radio shack and get an led. Hook it up in line with vtec wires and put it in you gauge cluster with a little vtec sticker on it and when you hit vtec it should come on and say vtec. Thats the cool way. Or just use the butt dyno. Thats what I use on my z6. I can feel it. But you have a d15 do I don't know about yours.

Re:vteck kiking
to hear it take off ur air intake tubing and rev high (while driving) until u hear what sounds like ur valves hitting ur pistons and its sorta echowy. its basically the sound of overlap which tells u the vtec is working
or just look at ur rpm guage, u can see it go up a bit faster

Drive around for a good hours on a hot *** day, Turn the ac all the way on, THen hit it, if your car is like my car on a hot *** day, it sucks *** until the vtec kicks in, it will kinda bogg until you hit it
