ok guys. i finally got my vtec to work in my gsr swap. :P and what i would like to know is why my vtec is not as loud and powerful like my brothers hatch. we got the same motor, we both have obd1, but the only thing he has is a ctr cam. don’t know if that is what makes his vtec sound supper loud and more powerful.

Vtec sound =rice.
Turbo "spool" sound =pimp!

 

I disagree, I think crazy Vtec sounds nice because, Vtec does actually make a lot of power in the upper RPM range. It is the cams. Stock GSR vtec is relatively quiet, stock GSR cams are some of the pussiest of stock DOHC vtec cams.

 

There's not many more cams that arent R cams (9k motors) But yea vtec isnt going to sound all crazy loud unless you have some sort of mods and definately an exhaust system.

 

I like the sound of vtec, turbo, and open dump. Sounds like a jet

do you have an intake on your car? if yes, short ram or CAI ?
