Re:vtec-e?
What kind of car is your vtec-E on/from. There is 4+ models of vtec-E I know of, but to Generally answer your question, You must get a new engine & ECU. Depending on what model you have, you should'nt have to re-wire anything.

Re:vtec-e?
Vtec-E is from the lean burn Civic VX. (which is where you also can find the wide-band capable L1H1 O2 sensor)
It shuts down an intake valve during cruise to induce higher swirl in the chamber, enabling a leaner mixture to ignite. Basically is sucks. :P There is 4+ models of vtec-E I know of Forgot about that, isnt there a 3stage one (low lift, lean burn w/ one intake shut down, and high lift). |
Re:vtec-e?
actually my vtec-e is a hx not vx. so i couldnt just put a vtec solinoid off a ex?

Re:vtec-e?
it's a different kind of vtec, the pins and cams are different, you would have to swap heads and ecus. here are some pretty pictures and some helpful words: http://www.leecao.com/honda/vtec/index.html

Re:vtec-e?
Yeah just swap heads. You can run it fine without buying the ECU right away. We've done this a few times. ;D
