could you jb weld the rest of teh bolt back to teh part stuck in the head and l;et it cure, then back it out??

 

I have a question on this:
The part circled in red, if I take off the bolts circled in blue, there is a lot of them, and remove what seems to be a "cam cover", will that part circled in red come out?
and replace the whole thing?

 

yea when u loosen all the blue nuts the cam caps will came off BUT
if you ever replace any of the cam caps they needs to be align bored with the head = $$$
did u tyr to take them out with easy-outs (reverse threaded drill bit thingy :P)

 

Yah i only managed to get one out. The rest refuse to come out.

Also, when you say align, is that a must or only if you mess it up or something?

 

man that same ---- happened to me, but only with one bolt. easy out will be your friend, if not, use silicone and jb weld like they said. i still have yet to get my bolt out...

 

When you say put JB weld, am I putting it between the valve cover and the head or put it between the bolt and the broken part of the bolt so that it would "weld" together?

well if you put it between the valve cover and the hed, if you ever need to pull the head or take the valve cover off, its gonna be a bitch. Id say, but silicone between the cover and the head, and jb weld on the bolt, but i could be wrong

 

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get them out. But when you say drill and tap it, you mean drill the crap out of it and get the metal flakes out, then retap it?

If that's what you meant, how would I get all that metal flakes out of the hole?

 

i broke a head screw last year and almost freaked. i got it out with a drill bit and put the drill in reverse. i placed the drill bit on the broken end of the bolt so it would catch . and it worked it slowly pulled the bolt out . hope this helps/.
