Re: two altnators down how many more will i kill
I am having similar alternator problems the car currently only has a cd player, that I dont use, no amps no subs, no neons nothing extra. but my battery keeps dying. after the cars sits for a day without running.
I just installed 130 amp alternator, and I still have the problem. could it be the positive cable that needs to be replaced?
I have all good grounds, I have grounds all over the car. I ahve a Apexi turbo timer that has a volt gauge and it reads 13.6 volts, and below with load its at 11.9 to 13 volts its getting so annoying. I even changed the complete engine harness. still same problem. I am so sick of it.

if u get more then like 0.020amps then you have parasitic loss

so i just went outside and chiekced and got some pics to verify that i did it rite. do i have to check it in amps? i checked it in ohms so oh well it read 1.5 ohms on the ground wire done like so
also snyone know wat these wires are sorry the pics are big but that way you can see them really good. i tried to get to where you could see the original wire color to
and this is wehre those wires are
ok so my friends multi meter doesnt read amps how fukin gay. any other ideas

Re: two altnators down how many more will i kill
you have to remove the neg cable
the meter is the jumper between the batt and the batt cable(+on batt - on cable)
meter has to be put on amp's, ohm will only measure the resistane, you want to see if there is a flow of electons

using a test light is only going to tell u if u have power or ground......check ur IOD fuse under ur dash.........i got a 96 civic that had the same problem.....stupid 90 cent fuse was blown when my buddy hooked up my stereo so my car was running a few days before dying.that should have been the first thing i checked.....but no being mister mechanic i grab an alternator an change it an throw a new battery in.
always check ur fuses.......specialy on obd-2 cars.........it's a good thing i work for chyrsler and not honda i guess................

this tells him buy the brightness of the light weather he does or doesn't.
and also if you know so mutch tell me how he finds power and ground from the neg terminal to the neg bett cable If he finds that then he has a bigger problem lie a backwards batt or a hot body ground system
