Use Honda MTF (manual transmission fluid) or 10w-30 regular motor oil

I am going to be using some of that B&M synthetic stick shift fluid because I got it free with my B&M short shifter. I will let you all know how it goes if I get off my lazy *** and put it in.

i've ran reg. 10-30 oil...it was ok...then i switched to honda mtf...it was way better..you can feel the diff with those 2. now i switched to GM synchro mesh....its the ----. my 3rd gear grind is freakin gone. after about 100 miles or so..it just got better. no grinds...no noise nothing. but that was my exp. heard good and bads about redline and motul. whatever you feel is good for you...but in mine and my customers cars...i use only GM synchro mesh.

I've had a few people tell me that sinthetic doesn't work very well in honda manual trannys. But I've only heard this from people, I've never tried it. The only thing I know for sure is that the honda fluid seems to act alot better than regular oil. It's got some additives in it that do something good...

Ive used honda mtf, redline mtl, and gm synchromesh. They all do well. I would say mtl and synchromesh are a tad smoother shifting. If you are experiencing grinds you might want to try gm synchromesh friction modified... people swear by it on ht. The gm synchromesh non-fm can be found under the pennzoil label at autozone/vans. The fm version you prob will have to order online or get at the gm dealer.

hrrrrrrmmmmmm....... i used 10w30 for a while and then started using honda mtf and noticed a big difference with the mtf, i guess i'll have to try the synchro mesh now, i don't see how it could get any smoother, but hey, i guess it can........

regular 10 w30 will get you by in a pinch, but overall, Honda mtf is the better way to go. GM syncromesh is more expensive, but I think it is the best alternative to MTF. I have tried many differnt types of synthetic oils in my tranny's, but they don't work for nothin in fast shifting situations!
