Re: Trans problems
Small update: Well no pics at the moment but did the teardown on the transmission to find out it has a spoon lsd. Do you guys think that the clutches inside the lsd can be wore down that it is causing the right turn clunk noise? Also I swapped different transmissions into buddies car, a gsr transmission with obx lsd with same axles into buddies car and there is no more clunk noise....

Re: Trans problems
it's a Kaaz unit that Spoon stamped their name on.
So it's not a Spoon unit
Wait that S looks like a "6"
Kaaz's always clunk, what oil was being used?
Cusco uses a smaller diameter clutch pack, where Kaaz claims 50% larger clutches. Also Kaaz's don't like superhard launches on sticky slicks

Re: Trans problems
Humm it is a s not a 6 lol. Kaaz, spoon it does not really matter as long as it works. He was using Honda MTF when I told him not to. He also told me it only clunk when he turn right but not when he turn left. He gave me the trans so should I take the lsd apart and rebuild it?

Re: Trans problems
figure about $500 or more in parts......thats if you can use the Kaaz parts.
I'd contact Ray at KaazUSA and see what he says.
Clutch kit for my Kaaz was $275 several years ago.....with OBX only $360 and holds more power, I'm gonna convert the Kaaz into a spool.
