First time ever dropping a tranny before.

I got the thing completely disconnected, axles out, shift linkages, all motor/tranny bolts, removed front motor mount compeltely, side mount I took out the center large bolt and left the mount on the tranny, the rear mount I took off the 3 bolts and the mount is free

I can pry the tranny off the motor a good 1/2" and ROTATE it back and forth from the front to the back of the car

But it wont drop

WTF would cause it not to drop when everything is disconnected? Would leaving it in gear do anything?

Grow a set and pull it out.

discount front and side mount fully. make sure it is not hitting the frame anywhere. pull it off the engine a good 2 inches before trying to "drop it".

The starter is out, I dont have a flywheel cover if thats what an inspection plate is

How the ---- do you take off the side mount that bitch has some impossible to reach bolts

I dunno, I did it. Your probably don't have to though. It's easier for me since I have an auto- manual swap and there is 2 inches of air ebtween my mount and the tranny. Sooper safe.

PS stop thinking about your ex and drop the ------- thing.

If its a 88-91 civic/crx there is a bolt on top of the mount and one under the mount. Once you get the mount off there is three bolts that hold on the bracket for the mount. Take them off and you got plenty of room to get the trans out.

Alrighty, hope I can get this ****** to drop quick, gotta be on the road in 45 min and I havent even showerred!!!

removing the passenger side mount worked perfect, plenty of room to slide it back and pull it down. Only problem was then that there was still oil in the trans and it proceeded to run down my chest and onto my grandparents newer keystone driveway. Hopefully varsol took care of that mess
