tranny aint going in gear
when i bought the CRX early this summer, it came with a ZC and the tranny worked fine, then one day i went in to the car and it would not go in gear, had a hell of a time going in to gear somedays, or would not go in at all, the clutch was fine and the tranny worked before, it just did this, so i pulled it and put my si tranny on from a civic now i wanna find out if the ZC tranny is good or not, should i fix it or toss it?

Re:tranny aint going in gear
everything was good, the trany had fluid in it, the clutch was good, and the shift linkage was good too, and one day i just got in the car and it would not want to easly go in to gear, very strange, ne ways i'm thinking of trashing the tranny, i have a si tranny on the ZC now, and i took it for a spin, wow does it pull, maybe it only felt that way because i'm used to driving my dads lebaron, lol

Re:tranny aint going in gear
well, depending on drivers but IF you race the car and shift hard with it, the shifter forks tend to bend and even break. like if you are slowing down and you downshift from 4th to 3rd to 2nd and then....1st, sometimes your arent slow enough yet but you kinda of push a little to get it in and you feel a little knudge inside. that kind of stuff bends the forks. they are only cast aluminum so too much heat with added pressure will totally do some damage. one time my friend took his...wow...a zc too in a crx, but anyways he took it from 1st...then power shifted into 2nd then it got stuck. he thought the tranny was bad too but I just replaced the shifter forks and the tranny was good as new. plus the zc trans have good ratios for 2nd on to 5th for drag but the final drive sucks. break it apart and see if its just the shifter forks. honda trans are known for their weak forks and stock differentials.
