Re: tps install?
unscrew the old one, screw the new one on, twist it back and forth both at WOT and throttle closed while monitoring it with a voltmeter to get it twisted to the proper spot before you tighten it down.
see the DIY ITB tech project article to your left to get pics and voltage ranges. |

Then bust out the multimeter and check voltage at idle and wot |
Re: tps install?
i mean do i need the butterfly to be wide open or closed? if closed, do i put the little nipple part inbetween the opening on the intake manifold and then turn it until it can bolt down? or what

how come when i did it that way i was getting a tps code...now that i installed it with the throttle body all the way open i'm only getting the code 41 no code 7 |
Re: tps install?
Im lost but the tps reads voltage simple if its set right no code off get code
|
Re: tps install?
41, isnt that the heater circuit, not the actual o2? or is that 43?
------, install the tps, make sure that tab goes into the back of the tb, then adjust it with the throttle closed until it reads .45v. some people use .32v because i guess thats what the car was set at before, but the manual says .45v. then tighten the bitch down. the o2 has nothing to do with your tps. |
Re: tps install?
i know it has ntohing to do with it....but 41 is the o2 sensor heater according to every list i've looked at...i'm not getting a code from the tps now since after fook's post i went and put it on the right way...

Re: tps install?
ok, its the heater. do you have a wb or your stock o2?
|
Re: tps install?
it's stock...so the heater is inside the o2 right? i need to check it with a multimeter and if it reads good then i need to change the o2 sensor?
