I saw this on Import Performance Parts and i´m thinking on buying them. What do you think? Are they better and more durable than stock ones from Honda?

OEM Honda bearings are the best that you can get.
If you like your engine get Honda OEM...if not...I would go with something better still that is proven to work for a lot of people...ACL bearings check Honda-tech. There is someone selling them cheap like $99 for mains and rod bearings

 

Some of my old muscle car friends (that have been in this business forever) say that the truth is bearings are bearings. Your clearances are more important than the brand.
Those bearings look like they only come in one size. (Revert back to previous statement)

 

Ok guys thanks a lot. I post this cause I think its strange those cause they have no clearances and since you are saying that they actually matter i´ll check for other brands that has them clearances. I would prefer not to go with OEM one cause I´m having problems with those... 3 engines (3 cars towed)at the same day at the track (same cause-bearings). I´ll try to get an aftermarket reinforced ones.

 

maybe you're installing them wrong... make sure the back sidce of the bearing is completly clean and not a spec of lube on it. but once they're in lube the ---- out of the bearing face. make sure they're in the right way to oil can get in too :-p

 

do you have an after market crank pulley?

 

yeah if the clearances are too tight or too loose youll spin bearings to kingdom come. Its better to be slightly on the loose side of the spec then to be too tight, but in spec is in spec. If you keep having problems make sure your oil pump and related parts (the oil bypass valve etc) are working good. Aftermarket crank pulleys eat up bearings soo bad it isnt even funny.

Maybe it was really a big coincidence cause the 3 engines i refered before are from 3 diferent cars, diferent drivers, and none of them blocks has ever been opened. The only thing I can think of is the oil we were using on the 3 cars. Castrol SLX 0-30 full syntetic. Could it be the reason?!?! Damn, ill stck with the OEM bearings then. Thank you for your opinion guys.

 

Guys, i know im a pain in the *** but i got to ask this:

What about Golden Eacle bearings? I saw them in Overboost.com and the price looked ok and i´ve send them an email to chek if those have diferent sizes (colors or else). Anyone had tried these? Are they worth it?

Note: I dont want to get OEM bearings over here (portugal) cause they are way expensive in our Honda places and i wanted a better ones, heavy duty ones or some ---- like that...
