Default Tips on getting a CARB sticker?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to get a CARB Sticker from a referee because their engine wasnt original. I just wanted some tips so i know what to expect. Also will they pass JDM engines?

I am planning to get my CRX Si CARB legal because i have a JDM Integra LS motor.

Forgot to mention i live in a state that have strict rules.... California.

Yeah, california has had some fucked up laws, you should see what crazy things chevy had to do with their trucks back in like '76.. stupid guinne pig management. My '86 was pretty bad for being non fuel injected.

I used to know shops you could pay off in florida to pass you, is that possible in CA?

yes they can, what you have to do (in the state of cali) you have to take your car to a smog referee (also known as Smog check 3 station) they are rare and usually located inside of CHP (california highway patrol) Stations. You must have the papers of the car it came from, a bill of sale accompanied by it, they will then vin match into the dmv the engine number and the vin will be turned into a new Emissions Plate (they stick it in your door) it looks like the one above but they are blue. good luck to you, and here if you dont have a receipt for the motor from the original car owner they can impound your car and crush it (its happened to me)
